Add New Page in WordPress…

Pages are static. They are a good way to publish information that doesn’t change much, like an About page. Pages appear in the Pages widget and in tabs/links across the top of some themes. Pages are not associated with a date/time like posts.

At times, pages are confused with posts. See Post vs. Page for an explanation of the differences.

Create a New Page

There are two ways to create a new page.

You can click Pages -> Add New in your dashboard.

Or you can select New Page from the dropdown menu in the upper right corner of an administration screen.

See our documentation on the Page Screen for more details.

Edit a Page

If you would like to edit an existing page, click Pages -> Pages on the left menu.

See our documentation on the Edit Pages Screen for more details.

Create Sub-Pages

The Page Attributes module allows you to set page parents and templates, and to change the order of your pages.

If you have a theme that supports the Custom Menus Feature you can:

  • Change the order of pages
  • Nest pages to create sub-menus
  • Display posts on different pages by creating category pages
  • Add custom links to the navigation menu
